Adventure Baja Tours

Hotels, restaurants, ground travel service, tours, catered special events - we can do it all for you. We encourage you to contact us to discuss details of your vacation.

Imagine yourself hiking the rugged canyons of Baja, stopping to cool off in pools of fresh running spring water! Imagine spending the evening relaxing on a beautiful beach as local fishermen serve up today’s fresh catch - BBQ’d before your very eyes right there on the beach! Or stuffed clams, roasted right in the shell over an open fire! Imagine a visit to a goat farm to watch fresh cheese being made, or traveling via horseback up into wildernesses that will make you feel as though you are the first humans to visit them. Or how about taking in a real Mexican horse race? A drag race? A cock fight?

A visit to a small remote fishing village? Tour Missions over 300 years old; visit operational ranchos where olives, mangoes and fig trees grow that were brought over from the mainland by the Missionaries in the late 1600’s! Visit with local folks that still hold the knowledge of which plants and herbs to use for any variety of different ailments. Maybe a tour of the best taco stands and other assorted eateries that this area has to offer? Are you planning to visit during a special time for you? How would you like a private event scheduled in your honor? Or a catered dinner, with your choice of a large variety of freshly prepared local seafood.

Or maybe the ultimate - a fantasy wedding on a volcanic desert island? Do you like to fish? Snorkel the beautiful clear waters of the Sea of Cortez to view dozens of varieties of colorful tropical fish? Or spend a leisurely day beachcombing? Would you enjoy a day-sail visiting one of the enchanted islands that dot our Sea? Are you a woman traveling with fishermen? How does an afternoon of shopping and ‘doing lunch’, topped off with a relaxing massage sound to you? We boast some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere - combining breathtaking mile-high mountains that literally leap out of the ground in front of you, the crystal blue waters of the Sea of Cortez, several enchanting islands and miles of natural seashore to explore. And - on top of the sheer beauty of the place - regular visits by dolphins, several different types of whales, huge manta rays, flying fishes, pelicans, magnificent frigate birds, blue-footed boobies, sea lions and a wide variety of land-based animals and birds- make Loreto a photographer’s fantasy - COME TRUE!

And did we mention fishing? Yes, we can help you plan your fishing trip down to the smallest detail, including boxed lunches!

And while you are visiting our friendly little town, please ask your hotel to contact Adventure Baja for you. There are many opportunities for you to enjoy yourself in Loreto - why not let us help you to get the most from your vacation!

Here is an example of one of our most popular tours:

Day Trip to San Javier Mission
Travel up into the Sierra Giganta Mountains 35 kms. to the amazing oasis of San Javier where you will tour a magical Mission, orchards of 300 year old olives, grapes and citrus.

Our trip will be tailored to your specific interests but can include visits to goat ranches, local farms, and even a special lunch of fish or beef grilled over an open mesquite fire for you high in the mountains! Horseback riding can be arranged as well. There are plenty of photo ops along the way, breathtaking views as we climb high into the mountains, and an opportunity to hike along the original route taken by the Jesuit missionaries more than 300 years ago. Add folklore, plants and their medicinal uses, birds and historical anecdotes – it makes for a complete day! Typically this tour lasts 8 hours and costs 85$US per person, with a minimum of four persons. This includes transportation, lunch, bottled water and guide.
